"Hindsight is looking into the eyes of future generations without excuses”
Nora Bateson
2020. An extraordinary blip? Or a cataclysmic shift?
Time marches on, yet our future feels ever more challenging. Normality strains to reassert itself, yet our social contract is unravelling. Dreams, and nightmares, both are multiplying.
In the middle of it all, we have one infinite resource: learning. We believe any healthy and health-creating society has to begin with the question ‘what do we do about learning?’ As our perception evolves, so can our action.
Our response: a leadership gathering for education pioneers
We are calling committed educators – in all our diversity – to join us for an intimate and inclusive leadership gathering.
Together, in the beautiful surroundings of the Lake District, we’ll ask: where do we go from here? How do we evolve education?
With our relational approach, you can expect new allies and a supportive new network, renewed energy, and a tiny bit more resilience for the long, hard road ahead.
Who is this for?
Anyone with a serious commitment to the future of education and learning in the UK.
You might be a committed headteacher. Visionary youth leader. Frustrated parent. A charity worker. A researcher. A social entrepreneur. A youth worker. An audacious student. You might focus on formal or informal education. Institutional or alternative. Early years or lifelong learning. Our diversity strengthens our collective intelligence.
Do you want to unashamedly look into the eyes of future generations, and tell them you did everything you could? You’d be welcome.
What to expect?
A back-to-basics camp for education pioneers. We’ll live, learn, work and dream together for four days and nights, inspired by a deeper connection to nature.
Bring your own tent and camping equipment, or we can provide. Bring your own experience, stories, expertise and burning questions, we’ll provide the food.
Expect collective enquiry. Solo reflection. Time out. Inspiring stories. Helpful insights. Breathtaking wilderness. Rejuvenating wild swimming. Reflective walks. A wise landscape. Outdoor cooking. Fireside stories.
