Join us for a Community Winter Walk
in the Peak District!
Come and discover a beautiful part of the Peak District, with others from The Visionaries’ community, as we walk from Edale across the iconic Mam Tor, Lose Hill and Winhill to The Beeches.
Note: this is one of two simultaneous Community Walks this Winter! (see our event page for the London walk)
Date & Time: 12pm (midday) on Sunday 14th December 2025
Location: Meet at the Penny Pot Cafe at Edale Station. Station Road, Edale, Derbyshire, S33 7ZN
The Plan
Sunday 14th December
➤ Meet at Edale station at 12pm (meeting point is outside the Penny Pot Cafe)
➤ Walk for 3-4 hours across the hills (exact route tbc based on weather on the day. Plan A is to walk across Mam Tor, Lose Hill and Winhill
➤ End the walk at The Angler’s Rest in Bamford, next door to The Beeches – a new rural community centre set up by friends of The Visionaries.
Note: The walk is being guided by our Director, Max Girardeau.
What to bring?
We advise you wear good walking boots as the footpaths will be uneven and potentially quite muddy! Walking in wellies is not advised for this length of hike.
There are some essential items and other items we recommend you bring, depending on how much space you have, how you’re traveling and how much you are willing to carry!
Essential
- Water bottle
- Lunch and snacks for the walk
- Enough warm layers
- Waterproof jacket
- Waterproof trousers
Recommended
- Spare shoes for after the walk (if it’s not too much to carry)
- Spare warm socks
- Suncream (you never know!)
Registration
The event is free to attend. Please RSVP over on Ticket Tailor and donate if you can (to help cover our admin and planning costs to run these for the community!)
